Prevention
 Youth Programs | Family Services | Presentations | Emergency Services

Youth Programs: At no charge and no income criteria

Weaverville (623-2785) & Hayfork (628-5210) Youth Centers, FNL (Friday Night Live) mentor Program and MOST ( Men of Strength) Club.

Family Services: At no charge and no income criteria

Home Based Family Services, Parent Education (including child development, budgeting, cooking, household management, positive discipline), parenting workshops, Welcome Baby Program, Elder Care Services and VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)
 

Presentations are done at all schools and are available for other agencies and service clubs. Topics include bullying, sexual assault prevention, violence prevention, healthy relationships, domestic violence, sexual harassment, and women's self defense classes.

Emergency Services:

These are based upon availability of funds and people must meet income eligibility. Transportation vouchers, utility assistance to prevent shut-off, food vouchers, motel voucher, emergency homeless shelter, assistance with dry goods (prescriptions, diapers, personal hygiene items).

Through fund raising and payroll deductions the staff has created a fund to provide support for new shoes for kids. Families with school age children who need new shoes may be eligible for this program.
